Best Granola Bowls of New York

The New York´s food scene is one for the books. It contains various cuisines and is in constant evolution. It has been shaped by waves of immigration and is one of the best places in the world to taste new and innovative food. Even if it contains yoghurt, smoothie or oatmeal, breakfast bowls can be quite simple – or just let say – boring. Or they can be colorful, inventive and nutritious. I want to take you through some of the best granola bowls New York has to offer.

What makes a good granola bowl?

In my opinion, good granola bowls consist of three elements:

  • a base like yogurt or smoothie
  • crunch like granola and/or seeds
  • berries and/or fruit

The bowl also has to be nutritious and colorful enough for those Instagram pics. New York´s granola bowls often fulfill all the mentioned requirements.

Copper Mug

The perfect acai bowl and black coffee at Copper Mug, New York.

Copper Mug is a hidden gem in Williamsburg. This is a great place for working, and the black coffee is really good. The place offer granola bowls with both yoghurt and acai, and the latter really stands out. The acai base and the granola on top was one of the best bowl combinations I´ve had. Don´t forget to ask for peanut butter on top. The music is also worth to mention, I had to open Shazam several times.

Nem´s Bistro

Yogurt and granola bowl with coffee and green juice at Nem´s Bistro, New York.

This gem of a Japandi bistro in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, offer a unique fusion of Japanese and Scandinavian food. Amongst Nem´s Bistro´s rich menu, you can find a big variety of fresh smoothies, juices, and last, but not least – granola bowls.

Their yoghurt and berry parfait was utterly delicious. The house-made granola had a unique and addictive flavor, and it was paired with a strawberry compote, bee pollen and a hint of mint, which made this one of the best granola bowls I’ve had. Again – I urge you to add peanut butter.

St. Jardim

Yogurt and granola bowl with black coffee at St. Jardim, New York.

In the middle of the charming streets of West Village you can find the lively neighborhood wine bar and restaurant St. Jardim. At first glance you wouldn’t think this is the place to get the perfect granola bowl, but here we are.

Until 2pm St. Jardim serves a rich café menu, which includes a perfectly composed yogurt and granola bowl with seasonal fruit, chia seeds and almond butter. The granola had an unique flavor, and I wished it was sold in packets.

I will also highlight the perfect people-watching corner location, which gives a French sidewalk restaurant vibe.

The Butcher´s Daughter

Coconut yogurt and ganola bowl with black coffee and green juice at The Butcher's Daughter, New York.

The Butcher´s Daughter has two locations in New York, one in Nolita, and one in Williamsburg. These places has both lovely outdoor seatings and are great for people watching. But let’s talk about their yogurt granola bowl! It consists of coconut yogurt, seasonal fruit and a cardamom granola, which we wished they sold by packages. Their acai bowl is also delicious, especially when adding almond or peanut butter.
